About the Event

What is the Event?

The Creative Expressions Experience is a day to appreciate the arts and handmade products. The event was created by Vickianne Caswell, an author, publisher, and owner of 4 Paws Games and Publishing. The event is now held in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, bringing in people from around the province. The event hosts a variety of entertainment throughout the day while vendors have their products to share and sell. A family-friendly event that has some activities for the children, and a variety of hand-crafted shopping to boot.

This is our third year for the event and will be held during Cultural Days weekend which we feel is a better fit for this event. The event is still currently in it’s starting up, growing stages. Our numbers of visitors have varied but measure around 200+ people in attendance excluding vendors which bring close to another 100. All money going into the event stays within the event. The Caswells volunteer at this event and most of the help is volunteer though getting volunteers isn’t easy either.

What is Our Goal?

Our goal is to not only bring more tourists to the area, to bring people together to appreciate and enjoy the arts but also turn it into something larger. We’ve been slowly adding on each year. Where do we see this event in future years? We’d like to see it grow so that it expands around the town while offering more events of different nature, around Bruno. We see ourselves having an actor and voice actor, much like Regina and Saskatoon has. A comic con mixed into this event, but we can’t do it alone.

Our biggest problem right now is bringing in more people so we can grow. To do that, we need more advertising, and this is where you can help! We have a variety of sponsorship packages available which would not only help with the advertising but help to keep it growing.

How it Started

It was Vickianne's dream to start something in her community similar to "Words in the Park" (Saskatoon). Knowing that not all the community are readers and the fact that the area has less people than Saskatoon, Vickianne thought of having an event that also held handmade and artistic works.

Vickianne often attends event with her business. On one of these events, it was slow and she and some vendors talked. The word "craft show" no longer meant crafts only. This was what got The Creative Expressions Experience moving.

How to Participate

The event is strictly handmade or the arts. If you don't fit into one of these, we don't accept you as a vendor unless sponsoring. Due to the large amounts of certain products requested to come in, we do limit them.
